Position Overview

Davey Resource Group, Inc. is actively seeking a self-motivated, highly-organized, and dedicated individual to join our environmental consulting team as Senior Accountant. With over 25 local offices
and a national footprint, we offer a wide and growing variety of consulting services, including: wetlands and stream studies, environmental design and ecosystem restoration, stormwater management and compliance, urban and community forestry, and invasive species management.

The selected candidate will be working out of our Kent, Ohio office.

Job Duties

Primary work duties of this position will be overseeing and assisting monthly billing/invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This position will be the primary point of contact for
coordination with our corporate accounting team. The successful candidate must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be detail-oriented, and display a commitment to supporting our operational team members. Responsibilities for this full time position will include undertaking and supporting the following accounting endeavors:

  • Data analysis and reporting;
  • Budget preparation;
  • Billing;
  • Month-end and Year-end close (journal entries, etc.);
  • Project setup and contract review;
  • Account reconciliations;
  • Oversee work of junior staff members; and
  • Other complex accounting projects as requested by senior staff.
  • Some travel required; different offices in Ohio and Virginia
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business;
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience;
  • Basic knowledge of automated accounting systems;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;
  • Detail and results oriented, self-starter, organized, and able to multi task with a high volume workload;
  • Able to work in a team setting and independently in a fast paced environment;
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service with a positive attitude;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills; and
  • Reliable individual that is dedicated to quality performance.
Additional Information

This is a full-time, salaried position with anticipated 40 Hours per week. Compensation will be dependent upon the experience of the selected individual.
